Accomodation
Campus Accomodation. Students will be accomadated in the guest house on the NIOT campus. There is one dormitory type Air conditioned staff quarter with 4 rooms with 10 beds and a hall with TV. The campus also has Batchelor’s accommodation (Non AC) in which 6 rooms (twin beds) are available for 12 persons. There are also some staff quarters (Non AC) which can also accommodate 8 to 12 persons on individual or sharing basis. Students will be accommodated within campus (sharing basis).
Hotel Accomodation. A list of hotels around the campus is provided at the end of this page.
Boarding: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, hi-tea, snacks will be arranged from the canteen located within the NIOT campus. The special dinner will be arranged around Port Blair.
Conference hall: In which 70 people can participate at a time. It has facilities such as, a stage, Full HD video projector, 85 inch 4K Monitor, Table top conferencing system (mics), Wireless mics, Amp & speakers, magnetic writing boards, internet network connections and WiFi internet facility.
Meeting room: In this room 30 people can participate at a time. It has facilities such as 85 inch 4K Monitor, Podium, Wireless mics, Amp & speakers, magnetic writing boards, internet network connections and WiFi internet facility.
Multipurpose Hall: In this hall 125 people can participate at a time. It has facilities such as Full HD Video Projector, multimedia station podium, WiFi internet facility. This hall can be used as class rooms and for dining also.
Laboratories: The following laboratories are now operational. Microscopy, Water Quality, Trace metal processing, molecular biology, microbiology, chromatography, cell culture, fermentation, Algal culture and Sample/chemical preparation lab.
Other facilities: Reception desk, office, visiting scientist cabin, Computer server / biogeoinformatics centre, Library, SCUBA Diving, Sampling boats - to be operated with bays.
